Brooks Cascadia 9 Men – and these are probably the most comfortable I’ve ever tried
Just broke them in on a local trail run.
Sizes seem to be highly irregular between makes and types of shoe. Thankfully, with this my first ever pair of brooks, i allowed for them being a little smaller than i expected. Normally i go for a eu45 but went for eu46.
Every time i order an item off amazon they never failexcellent service , delivered rapid. As for the shoes ive had them two weeks now and i’ve ran two thirteen milers, and a twenty miler in them ,all off road on trail mud rock etc. Excellent price , quality shoe.
- Good trail shoes
- and these are probably the most comfortable I’ve ever tried
- Excellent cushioning but only the moderate grip you would expect
Changed from inov8 trail roc as getting pain in my knees. Did a 9 mile trail/fell with no problems. Will be sticking to brooks cascade from now on for trail shoes.
First trail shoes ever, and i love them, and they fit just as expected.

Solid shoes, i went one size up, and they just fit.
My first trail shoes after being impressed by brooks defyance 4 running shoes these are shallow drop (4mm iirc) so switching gradually so as not to cause injury. But grip if thats what you want can be found here – i’m talking trails and parks – you will be confident in your footing with these – not necessarily heavy mud or gravel. Meant for running not for hiking imo due to there lightweight design.
Very comfortable with no issues during an 18k run.
Struggled to find trainers that were semi normal colours. These are so good i’m planning on buying a second pair for when i ware these out.
These are a narrow fit so suit me well. Excellent cushioning but only the moderate grip you would expect from a trail shoe. Very hardwearing and good value if you can get them for under £60.
Just hit the trail for a quick 6 mile test of my new brooks runners. The good points:- they are relatively light- they have a good solid base and varied tread for grip- the base responds well to uneven surfaces, good protection but enough of a feel for the surface. – very comfortable inside and a snug fit around the foot- they have high lace holes for a really tight fit around the anklecouple of minor issues:- they are a little narrow around the upper part of the foot, so for anyone with wide feet they will feel tight. Not a problem for me, but took a bit of adjusting to get the right fit over the tongue- the laces are rather short when using the highest lace holes. Can still be double tied but really need another couple of inches. Overall, i was really pleased with how they felt and how they responded to the trail. I really enjoyed running in them and would definitely recommend.
Protects well against rough ground. I’m an 8, but had to get an 8. 5 to fit – still pretty snug, but comfy.
The shoes are great bit i hace two pair of gliceryn and their size is justo a little bigger tan cascadia bit enough for running.
Not quite as good as the cascadia 8 in my opinion, still a good off road shoe.
Fantastic ultrarunning shoe. Be careful on wet conditions.
I’ve run thousands of miles in a variety of trail running shoes, and these are probably the most comfortable i’ve ever tried. So far i’ve covered over 150 miles in these, mostly on hardpack trail in dry conditions and they’ve never failed to impress. I ran a trail marathon in them and usually get some small blisters on my little toes at that kind of distance but for whatever reason i was fine in these with no unusual aches or pains to mention.
Really comfortable shoe especially on longer trail runs.
I took these out this morning. They stood up to this well, i think. These have a lower heel than previous cascadia, but that is not to the detriment of cushioning. The overall feel is one which is more natural/barefoot than other trainers i’ve owned, and that is fine if that is what you’re going for. I know i found that the natural feel worked really well with difficult ‘technical’ routes, and promoted an efficient gait on the easier stretches. The only issue i have is that we runners tend to get at least half a size up. I did this time, but i don’t think it was needed. The sizing with these is pretty much on the nail, so i would buy your normal size.
I bought these shoes for my husband – normally a size 9 – his previous brooks are a 91/2 so ordered these shoes in 91/2 but they are too small. I have tried through the normal returns process but can’t get any further as it just freezes. Can someone help so i can return the 91/2 and order a 10?.
Good quality, fit as expected.
They are smart looking functional shoes, a little expensive at £72 but latest model so you have got to expect that. I have bought cascadia since they first came out. I am a heavy runner at 90kg but these support me well and aregood for walking in too up to about 15 miles. Good for park runs and i have even used them on track sprints asi sprint in trainers now dues to achilles injuries with spikes with good results, good shoes.
Great shoes best running trainers ihave had in a long time.
The grip is excellent, having used them in muddy & dry running i cant find fault with them. Look great and very comfortable. I generally road run with asics, and these feel similar.
