Merrell Men’s All Out Peak Running Shoes – Merrell All out Peak – Sports Shoes Unlimited
Really love these trainers, tool a gamble as i’ve never had a pair of merrells but judging by the their background as well as the sole being vibram i knew i wouldn’t be disappointed. They’re really comfortable and support my ankle through most of my running routes.
In this shoe, one can see a lot of quality. Having a pair of merrell chuka boots already, i thought that i could order the same size. Unfortunately just too small. So i had to return them and get a 1/2 size larger, which seems much more then a 1/2 size difference. All in all a well built shoe.
Excellent shoe apart from narrow toe box which left rubbed both little toes (i don’t believe i have particularly wide feet, narrow if anything) nothing a bit of mole skin didn’t solve. Wore these while hiking 100k non stop, would definitely wear again.

A new addition to my collection of merrell shoes and i wasn’t disappointed, initially quite sight across the top of my foot these have since stretched just that little bit to make these comfortable (so much so that i am using them whilst away at a conference as my every day shoes).
Bought these to walk in the alps in the summer. 15 days of 7 hours with a 6kg pack in and around the queyras national park. 1000m plus a day of ascent/decsent approx. Lightweight and comfortable – used with rab mini-gaiters they kept out grass seeds/grit etc. It was dry everyday with only about 3 hours of rain on one of the 15 days. Shoes dried out fast as expected. Good fit – i have wide feet and the inov8 shoes generally don’t fit. Have had merrell bare access trail before but these aop shoes have a stiffer sole and you don’t feel the rocks so much. Good in the dry – good grip on gritty trails and rocks. Haven’t really tried in the wet.

I first heard about these shoes from a trail running shoe top rating site and because i like merrell brand i thought i would give them a try. So far so good in terms of the shoe however the insole slips easily to the front when i am going downhill and when my feet are wet from sweating. It’s very uncomfortable so i am going to have to think of a way to solve this. The vendor sports shoes unlimited was first class in delivering them the very next day and also the price was very good compared to us sites and other vendors where some were more than double. So i am very impressed with the seller indeed. Would use them again for sure.
Best trail running shoes ever. Light, comfortable, rock protection, great confidence and grip. Already have tried salomon speedcross, asics fuji trabuco, adidas kanadia, and these ones beats them all by far. Tested them in competition (30km with variable ground surface) and training mode (20km with soft surface).
After 250km in this shoe i’ve decided to give a critical review. Firstly – size: this is very slightly on the larger side. If you’re a half size such as a 10. 5 like me, then choose the size 10 as opposed to the size 10. This is where the shoe performs best i think. Very comfortable for anything up to marathon distance (i’ve not done longer in a single outing yet. ), and not a single blister. The vibram soles are a real treat in gravel and dry terrain. I’ve also been quite impressed with them over damp roots on the forest floor. However, they are no good for mud. I’m a trail runner in ireland and as such, bogs and fells are a regular occurance in the hills. These shoes will have you sliding all over the place on that sort of surface. Better to stick with the mudclaws there. The soft mesh around shoe works well at keeping grit and debri out and still allowing water to drain. I’m a fan of easy-in and easy-out when it comes to water (nothing worse than having a shoe full of water you cant get rid of. However, this mesh is very prone to tearing on any bush or sharp rock. My first tear in the toe area was chalked up to my own carelessness in tripping over an exposed root in the forest, but yesterday i did a bit of crashing through some low-lying brush in the irish hills, and simple scrub pretty much tore the mesh to shreds in a number of different places. In summary, im still giving these shoes a 4* – they are really comfortable, but you need to know when (and when not to) wear them. If you’re like me or most other active trail runners, then you’ll have a few different shoes for varied terrain. These are a good choice for dry hills and technical, single track.
Buy a size up like they all say. These trainers fit so damn well and feel really good on your feet.
The shoes arrived in good time and after reading some good reviews i was excited to give these shoes ago. Id never had a pair of merrells before but upon opening the box my first impressionsof the shoes were good. They seemed to be weel constructed, and the lugs on the bottom looked like theyd grip into the toughest of trails. I only tried them on in the house and even though id ordered half a size up they were giving me some discomfort and pain in both my heels. Because of this i decided to send them back knowing that slight discomft just trying them on would turn into a massive issue while out on a run. I was a bit dissapointed having to send them back as i was expecting great things from this shoe and brand.
